Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly?
Bi-weekly means paid every 2 weeks (26 times a year), which sometimes results in 3 paychecks in a month. Semi-monthly means paid twice a month on fixed dates (24 times a year), always 2 paychecks per month.
Why would my annual total differ between bi-weekly and semi-monthly?
Only if the per-paycheck amount is the same — since 26 payments a year is more than 24, a bi-weekly amount that looks similar to a semi-monthly one actually adds up to more annually.
