Group Expense Splitter (Uneven Shares) Calculator
Enter the total bill and each person's share (e.g. how many items or how much of the meal each person had) to split the cost fairly, not evenly.
Group Expense Splitter (Uneven Shares) Calculator
Split a bill unevenly based on each person's share — useful when people didn't order or use the same amount, unlike a straight even split.
Unlike an even bill split, this calculator divides a shared cost in proportion to each person's stated share — handy for group meals, trips or purchases where people didn't consume equally.
Example
- With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Total Shares ≈ 4.00; Person 1 Owes ≈ USD 60.00; Person 2 Owes ≈ USD 60.00; Person 3 Owes ≈ USD 60.00; Person 4 Owes ≈ USD 60.00.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a regular bill split?
An even bill split divides the total by the number of people. This calculator instead divides it in proportion to each person's 'share' number, so someone with a bigger order pays more.
What if only 2 or 3 people are splitting?
Leave the unused share fields at 0 — they'll be excluded automatically since a 0 share means $0 owed.
