Frequently Asked Questions
What is the formula?
Cubic Yards = Area (sq ft) × Depth (feet) ÷ 27, since a cubic yard is 27 cubic feet. Depth is converted from inches to feet by dividing by 12.
How deep should mulch be?
A common recommendation is 2–4 inches deep for most garden beds — enough to suppress weeds and retain moisture without smothering plant roots.
