Cement Bags Calculator
Enter your concrete volume, mix ratio and cement bag weight to estimate how many bags of cement you need.
Cement Bags Calculator
Estimate the number of cement bags needed for a concrete pour, based on your volume and mix ratio (e.g. 1:2:4).
This calculator applies the standard 1.54 dry-to-wet volume factor to your target concrete volume, splits it according to your mix ratio, and converts the cement portion into bags using standard cement density.
Example
- With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Total Mix Parts ≈ 7.00; Dry Cement Volume Needed (cu m) ≈ 0.220; Cement Weight Needed (kg) ≈ 316.80; Cement Bags Needed ≈ 6.3.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there a 1.54 factor?
Wet, compacted concrete volume is about 1.54 times the volume of the dry, loose ingredients combined, since dry materials have air gaps that get filled during mixing — this factor converts your target wet volume into the dry material volume needed.
What does a mix ratio like 1:2:4 mean?
It means 1 part cement, 2 parts sand and 4 parts coarse aggregate by volume — a common general-purpose concrete mix.
