India EPF Calculator

Project your Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) corpus at retirement.

This is a simplified projection. It treats the full employer contribution as going into your EPF account, but a portion (8.33% of Basic, capped) is legally diverted to the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), so your actual EPF corpus is usually somewhat lower than this estimate. EPF interest is declared annually by EPFO and can change.

Both employee and employer contribute 12% of Basic + DA each month to EPF (subject to certain wage-ceiling rules). This calculator projects the maturity corpus assuming the full 24% combined contribution grows at the EPFO-declared annual interest rate, compounded monthly.

Example

  • With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Combined Monthly Contribution (24%) ≈ ₹6000.00; Total Contribution ≈ ₹2016000.00; Projected Maturity Value ≈ ₹7904245.05; Interest Earned ≈ ₹5888245.05.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this account for the EPS diversion?

No — for simplicity, this assumes the full 12% employer contribution goes to EPF. In reality, up to 8.33% of Basic (capped at the statutory wage ceiling) is diverted to the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) instead, so actual EPF balance is typically lower.

How often does the EPF interest rate change?

EPFO declares the interest rate for each financial year, typically announced a few months into the year and credited retroactively — it can go up or down year to year.
