India NPS Calculator (National Pension System)

Project your NPS retirement corpus and estimated lump-sum/annuity split.

This is an estimate for general informational purposes only, not investment advice. Actual NPS returns are market-linked and vary by fund manager and asset allocation (equity/corporate debt/government securities); they are not guaranteed.

The National Pension System (NPS) is a market-linked, defined-contribution retirement scheme. On exit at 60, at least 40% of the accumulated corpus must be used to purchase an annuity, while up to 60% can be withdrawn as a tax-free lump sum.

Example

  • With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Estimated Corpus at Retirement ≈ INR 11,396,626.62; Tax-Free Lump Sum (60%) ≈ INR 6,837,975.97; Mandatory Annuity Purchase (40%) ≈ INR 4,558,650.65.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much of my NPS corpus can I withdraw as a lump sum?

Up to 60% of the accumulated corpus can be withdrawn tax-free at retirement (age 60); the remaining minimum 40% must be used to buy an annuity that provides regular pension income.

Are NPS returns guaranteed?

No. NPS is a market-linked scheme, so actual returns depend on the performance of the equity, corporate bond and government securities funds you choose, and will vary from any single assumed rate.
