UK Student Loan Repayment Calculator

Estimate your monthly and annual student loan repayment across Plan 1, 2, 4, 5 or Postgraduate loans.

This is an estimate for general informational purposes only. It assumes UK PAYE employment with no other adjustments; if you hold more than one type of loan (e.g. Plan 2 plus a Postgraduate Loan), both are deducted simultaneously and should be calculated separately then added together.

UK student loan repayments are 9% of income above your plan’s threshold (6% for Postgraduate Loans), deducted automatically through the tax system once your income exceeds that threshold.

Example

  • With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Repayment Threshold ≈ GBP 29,385.00; Repayment Rate ≈ 9%; Annual Repayment ≈ GBP 505.35; Monthly Repayment ≈ GBP 42.11.
