India Salary Calculator (CTC to In-Hand)

Break down your Cost to Company (CTC) into gross salary and estimated monthly take-home pay.

This uses common assumptions (PF calculated on full Basic, no wage ceiling applied) — your employer's actual policy may differ, and this does not deduct income tax (TDS). Professional tax varies by state; some states charge none. Check your payslip for exact figures.

Your CTC (Cost to Company) includes components that never reach your bank account — the employer's PF contribution and gratuity provision. This calculator estimates your gross salary (CTC minus those employer-side deductions) and your monthly take-home pay after employee PF and professional tax. It does not deduct income tax — use the India Income Tax Calculator separately for that.

Example

  • With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Basic Salary (Annual) ≈ ₹600000.00; Employer PF Contribution ≈ ₹72000.00; Gratuity Provision ≈ ₹28860.00; Gross Salary (Annual) ≈ ₹1099140.00; Employee PF Deduction ≈ ₹72000.00; Net Salary Before Tax (Annual) ≈ ₹1024740.00; Estimated Monthly Take-Home ≈ ₹85395.00.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn't this include income tax?

Income tax (TDS) depends on your tax regime choice, exemptions and deductions, which vary a lot by individual — use the India Income Tax Calculator separately with your gross/taxable income.

Why is my employer PF not exactly what my payslip shows?

Some employers cap PF-eligible basic at the statutory wage ceiling of ₹15,000/month rather than contributing on your full basic salary — check your payslip for your employer's actual policy.
