Australia Superannuation Guarantee Calculator

Estimate your employer’s compulsory superannuation contribution.

This is an estimate for general informational purposes only. It does not apply the annual maximum contribution base cap (which limits the earnings SG applies to for very high earners) — for most employees this does not affect the result.

Under the Superannuation Guarantee (SG), Australian employers must contribute a percentage of an eligible employee’s ordinary time earnings into their superannuation fund. The SG rate reached its final legislated level of 12% from 1 July 2025 and continues at that rate.

Example

  • With the default values shown above, this calculator returns: Employer Super Contribution ≈ AUD 10,800.00.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the current Super Guarantee rate?

12%, fully phased in from 1 July 2025, applied to your ordinary time earnings (generally your regular pay, excluding most overtime).

Is there a cap on super contributions?

Yes — an annual maximum contribution base limits how much SG applies to for very high earners ($270,830 for 2026-27), beyond which an employer isn’t required to pay further SG. This calculator does not apply that cap.
